Businesses in Bath are being encouraged by Big Ted and his teddy bear colleagues to enter teams in the 2015 Vitality Bath Half Marathon in support of The Forever Friends Appeal charity.
Taking place on Sunday 1st March 2015, the race will see thousands of runners pound their way around the popular city centre course, all taking on the race for a different personal reason.
Every year over 500 runners representing business teams sign up to the race as part of the ever popular Corporate Challenge – a great opportunity to help build teamwork across departments, competition between businesses, fitness in the work place, whilst still raising money for great local causes.
The Forever Friends Appeal charity at the RUH has been selected as Featured Appeal for the event and is encouraging businesses across Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire to join in the Corporate Challenge in 2015 to help transform care for patients and their families at the hospital.
Business teams can invite clients, suppliers, friends and family to join their team – so together they can raise funds for a cause close to their hearts.
Corporate Officer for The Forever Friends Appeal, Jo Common, said: “We are currently raising £8.5million to help build a pioneering new Cancer Centre for the hospital, and are therefore calling on the support of our local businesses to help us achieve our goal by taking on this team challenge!
“The current cancer unit facilities at the RUH are outdated and uncomfortable, and do not provide the positive healing environment our patients need to compliment the exceptional medical care.
“It is therefore our goal to raise these much needed funds to build a truly exceptional new Centre which will transform the care of our patients here at the RUH.”
Corporate Challenges places cost £42.50 and each entrant must pledge to raise a minimum of £175 for The Forever Friends Appeal.
There is no limit to the number of entrants in each team (subject to the overall limit of 500 places), but a minimum of 5 runners are required to score in the team results and to qualify for the separate mens’ and women’s trophies.
Corporate Challenges places are allocated on a first come first serve basis. For more information visit www.bathhalf.co.uk/the-event/corporate-challenge/ or www.foreverfriendsappeal.co.uk.
