An increase of demand to the Bath Business Improvement District ranger service has meant that a new bespoke vehicle has been purchased to keep up with requests.
The BID Rangers and their electric vehicle have been a regular sight on our street since 2011.
They provide a response service to meet the needs of businesses across the city responding to emergency cleaning requests and deep cleaning.
With the increase demand for their services, the Bath Business Improvement District has purchased a new bespoke electric vehicle with specialised cleaning equipment.
The new Goupil GS, which was delivered to Bath last week, is a nimble cleaning vehicle that can respond to any call out in with a few minutes.
The vehicle houses its own water supply as well as a caged flatbed area to enable the Rangers to safely carry equipment and remove waste more effectively.
It also boasts a more powerful jet wash and longer hose which will make the deep cleaning undertaken in the city a lot easier.
Andrew Cooper, Bath BID Chief Executive said: “We placed our order for the vehicle in the summer from the Dorset based distributors who loaned us a similar vehicle in the interim period.
“This has already helped to increase the Rangers efficiency as we are now able to improve our service and decrease our response time for our current 660 levy payers with the two vehicles being used simultaneously.
“Keeping Bath clean is a priority of the Business Improvement District and we are available 6 days a week to respond for free to cleaning requests from ‘all’ businesses. This is cleaning above and beyond the legal requirement of the local authority. ”
The skilled BID Rangers offer a variety of specialised cleaning services to levy payers which includes hot wash deep cleans to remove chewing gum, doorway, car park and basement cleans, removal of anti-social mess and bird mess, algae & graffiti removal and small maintenance jobs.

Wednesday 4th March, 2015 at 13:08The Council gave up on their responsibilities, their duty to the people when they sold the Housing Stock to SOMER and let in a Wolf in Sheep’s clothing.
They do not care for the wellbeing of the people, they now have street sweeper operated machines that are noisier than a jackhammer. It’s all good for street cleaniness but to operate it before seven in the morning contravenes Statutory Law and all because the Council do not wish the Tourists to see too many street cleaner so all have to finish work by 1pm, so we have to suffer a lack of sleep.

Monday 29th December, 2014 at 11:08So basically Bath Council has abdicated its responsibility for taking care of infrastructure and maintenance and the BID is gullible enough to let them, while business owners end up paying the BID to do what they have already paid the council to do. You can see why councils are so keen to ram new BIDs through with virtually no consultation. It’s a massive tax hike they don’t have to clear with central government and the referendums can be easily rigged.
