New signage is to be erected on the outskirts of Peasedown St John, on the approach to the village from both Bath and Radstock, thanks to a local councillor.
Karen Walker wrote to Bath and North East Somerset Council at the end of last year to ask for signage either side of the village to be replaced, updated and refreshed.
Karen said: “Many local residents contacted me last year to ask if the highway welcome signs on the A367 could be replaced.
“Some of the information is out of date, and it’s important for a community the size of ours to have clear and inviting welcome signs.”
Bath and North East Somerset have confirmed that new signage will be erected later in the spring.
Karen added: “We’ve had a lot of success in Peasedown and Carlingcott recently with new signage in places like Keels Hill, Braysdown Lane, and Bloomfield Way.
“It’s essential that we look after our streets and keep infrastructure new – if we do it helps to maintain pride and a sense of ownership in our community.”
