Students at the City of Bath College have dedicated a day of their studies to create the ultimate treat for mums across the local area, by making sure they are well pampered and looked after.
The Health and Beauty students gave a group of lucky mums a pampering spa day to remember at The Academy at City of Bath College.
They were treated to a one-hour Swedish full body massage, facial, cut and blow dry, and full use of the spa facilities, including the sauna, steam room and hot tub.
The special ‘Spoil Your Mum’ package to coincide with Mother’s Day also included a two-course lunch at The Shrubbery, prepared and served by Catering and Hospitality students.
Mum-of-three Rebecca Barnes from the Chew Valley said: “It was such a lovely relaxing day. The students treated us to the whole works; it was such a treat.
“I’ve got three young kids so it was very nice to have some ‘me’ time.”
Rebecca, whose children are three, six and eight, joked: “The students have made me look and feel so beautiful. The kids may not recognise me!”
Jamie Linegar, who is also from the Chew Valley, said the pampering day was just what she needed with a four-year-old and a baby on the way.
She said: “It’s been amazing, I can’t thank the students enough. The students are so talented; they took extra special care of me knowing I am pregnant.
“I’m going to struggle to drive home, I feel like I could fall asleep, I’m that relaxed.”
Jamie added: “It’s the first time I’ve been to the college but it’s so nice to be part of the students’ learning experience. I’ll definitely come back and recommend it to others.”
Similar pampering packages are held throughout the year at the spa in the Roper Building on James Street West.
The College’s Academy Hair, Beauty Studios and Spa is a full-service facility open to the public from Mondays to Fridays.
