Disruption was caused earlier this morning after a lorry caught fire while travelling along the London Road during the Saturday morning rush hour.
The Irish lorry was seen smoking at around 8.30am as it drove along the A4 into Bath, and pulled over to the side of the road at the start of the bus lane opposite Lambridge Street at Grosvenor.
The bus lane was closed to allow for Avon Fire and Rescue to attend and put out the small blaze, which started in the back of the vehicle.
Nobody was hurt in the incident, though the cargo onboard the lorry was damaged with a number of burnt boxes and pallets being removed.
The lorry was still being recovered this afternoon by a specialist recovery team.
The fire added to further disruption on the London Road this morning after Wales and West Utilities started work to rectify a gas leak near Beaufort Stores.
