National Express is trebling the number of daily coach services between Bristol, Bath, Swindon and Oxford, adding new early connections to make day trips possible.
The UK’s largest coach operator has announced its Bristol to Oxford service, which also calls at Bath and Swindon and is currently the only direct public transport link between the two cities, is to be expanded from one to three services a day by adding a new 301 service to the timetable.
Complimenting the existing 302 service, the new 301 service introduces a new early departure time of 8am from Bristol Bus Station – for the first time opening up the possibility of day trips to the historic cities that are enroute.
The new 301 service also calls at Bristol University so students can benefit from increased cross country connections too.
Coaches depart Bristol Bus Station in Marlborough St at:
- 8am;
- 2pm;
- 4.15pm.
With summer not far away the new service also promises to bring in more tourists to the Bath area in a boost to the local economy, while passengers can enjoy leather seats, air-conditioning and power sockets made to ensure their journey is as smooth and relaxing as possible.
National Express UK Coach Managing Director Tom Stables said: “The addition of the new service opens up the possibility of day trips to Bath, Swindon and Oxford and will make it much easier for people to visit Bristol so visitors can admire the harbourside, visit the zoo or go shopping.
“We currently provide the only public transport link between Bristol and Oxford and this new service is another great addition to our unrivalled coach network spanning almost 1,000 UK destinations.”
Journey times take just 2hr 45mins end to end with single fares starting at £4.50.
