Nearly nine hundred properties to the west of Bath have lost power this evening after a fault caused a mass power cut across the BA2 area.
847 homes in Oldfield Park lost electricity at 18.50, mostly in the BA2 3 area, with homes in the BS39 7 area also affected.
Western Power Distribution has sent an engineer to investigate the fault, with an estimation of supplies being restored by 10pm.
A spokesman has said that they are aiming to restore power to all affected properties as soon as possible.
Concern has been raised by local residents for properties at the new Riverside development, where water is pumped to homes via a dedicated electrical Wessex Water pumping station.
