Bath & North East Somerset Council met with its contractor last week, to discuss the progress at Widcombe Parade and ensure the remaining work is completed in a timely and safe manner.
Work to resurface Widcombe Parade and Pulteney Road South has already been completed, and car parking spaces reopened.
The Council is taking the opportunity to thank the community for their patience during the overnight work to complete this.
A number of specialist contractors are scheduled to complete the surfacing, installation and testing of new traffic signals on the A36, Rossiter Road and Claverton Street this week (W.C 18th May) – there will be no daytime road closures during this work.
Once the work is completed, two-way A36 traffic will be then routed on to Rossiter Road and Claverton Street.
Pulteney Road South will become two-way. Widcombe Parade will be available for one way local traffic East-bound.
Access to Lyncombe Hill, St Marks Road, Widcombe Hill and Prior Park Road remains two-way.
The Council and its contractor will ensure that the works are completed to a position enabling the Widcombe Rising festival to go ahead on 7th June.
Further updates will be given in advance of the day A36 traffic is to be diverted out of Widcombe Parade.

Tuesday 19th May, 2015 at 14:15Please note the event in Widcombe on 7th June is a fun celebratory street party organised by Widcombe Association on the lines of the Chelsea Road street party. It is not a Widcombe Rising and is not organised by the Widcombe Rising team. It is a smaller local event to celebrate the opening of the bypass. It will feature local bands and food etc but is not a full blown Widcombe Rising. The organisers of previous (and possibly future) Widcombe Risings are concentrating on building Bath Comedy Festival into a major contributor to the Bath cultural scene (Bath Comedy Festival 2016 opens on April 1st)
