Pupils at two primary schools in and around Bath have received a special summer gift from Sirona, computer monitors, which they’ll be able to use for their work.
Sirona, the not-for-profit social enterprise which provides community health and adult social services, has given monitors it no longer needed to Weston All Saints CE Primary School in Bath and St Keyna Primary School in Keynsham.
Gary Callaway, Sirona’s IT Service Delivery Manager, said: “We introduced some new hardware at Sirona which meant some of our computer monitors were surplus to requirements.
“Rather than see them go to waste we were keen to find new homes for the monitors and staff knew that these two schools were looking for equipment so we were delighted to be able to help.
“Sirona is a community interest company and this is a different way of being able to support the communities we serve.”
Mr Richard Eaton, ICT Co-ordinator, at Weston All Saints CE Primary School in Bath, said: “We are very grateful for the 20 monitors, as they saved the school approximately ?1250, which has allowed us to invest in tablet technology.”
Adrienne Hughes, headteacher at St Keyna Primary School, Keynsham, said: “Sirona’s kind donation has enabled us to complete the refurbishment of our ICT suite well within budget.
“The work has the seal of approval from Robert in year five who said the new area looks totally awesome!”
