General entries and Corporate Challenge places for the Vitality Bath Half Marathon in March sold out in December, but there is still one last chance to enter the race.
Runners who are still thinking of taking part in the sell out event need not be disappointed as they can still do so by entering through one of the few remaining charity places, which will close on Thursday 22nd January.
Almost 15,000 runners have already signed up to the Sunday 1st March race and general entries sold out last month – three months ahead of race day.
Corporate Challenge entries have also proved popular this year; selling out just after Christmas.
Andrew Taylor, Race Director from Running High said: “More and more races are starting to crop up each year, so we’re really pleased to see our loyal runners return again this year, as well as welcoming lots of new faces to sell out well in advance of the race.
“For those new to running, it takes a lot of determination to get started, let alone train for a longer distance race. We find that the runners who take part on behalf of a charity always have that extra drive to really push themselves across the finish line, often because they are doing it for a cause close to their hearts.
“We have seen lots of charity places go already so make sure you get your entries in quick to avoid missing out.”
The Vitality BATHALF is one of the biggest single day fundraising events in the South West. Last year, runners in the event raised over £2million for charity.
Mel Taylor, Charity Director at Running High said: “The amount of money that our runners raise for charity each year never ceases to amaze me.
“Every year for the past 15 years, we have seen our charity fundraising total increase thanks to the hard work and dedication of our runners, and the generosity of their friends and families.
“There is always so much camaraderie amongst our charity runners, which plays a big part in making the event really special. This year, we are looking forward to seeing even more runners crossing the finish line representing their chosen charity”.
There are over 90 official charities with places available for the Vitality BATHALF.
In addition, this year’s event sees five featured charities including Lead Charity, Teenage Cancer Trust. Jamie’s Farm is the Official Fun Run Charity; Bath Rugby Foundation is the Local Charity of the Year; the RUH Forever Friends Appeal will return as the Featured Appeal for the annual race; and the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation is the official charity for the Vitality Run Series.
For anyone who wants to be part of the Vitality BATHALF without taking on 13.1 miles, the Bath Half Family Fun Run is now open for all ages and abilities to enter.
The 1 mile long course starts and finishes on Great Pulteney Street so runners get the same race day experience as half marathon entrants.
The Family Fun Run course is completely traffic-free and every entrant will receive a t-shirt, medal and a goody bag on crossing the finish line .
