Older people are being given the opportunity to get free one-to-one advice about their mobile phones, iPads, computers, TVs and more at a dedicated event hosted by Bath students.
The free ‘Get to know your gadget’ sessions will be held on Tuesday 4th November, at City of Bath College from 1-5pm as part of the Bath Digital Festival in association with Age UK Bath & North East Somerset and the Youth@Bath Trust.
The students, from City of Bath College and Bath Spa University are offering free advice and guidance on topics like taking a photo on a smart phone, reading on an iPad, internet banking or keeping in touch with friends via Facebook.
Each hour long session begins with a 15 minute master class and then a 40 minute session of one-to-one tuition.
There are just 12 places per session so sign up early by emailing [email protected] or call 01225 466 185.
Refreshments will be provided and while there will be a selection of devices available, attendees are asked to bring any of their own gadgets with them.
Janet Dabbs, chief executive of Age UK B&NES, said: “So many of us have gadgets that we are only using to a fraction of their capabilities.
“Young people are experts in how to get the most out of technology, so this is a wonderful opportunity to tap into their expertise and get some answers to all those nagging questions you may have about your gadget.”
