The wife of missing Bath dementia sufferer Desmond O’Sullivan has renewed an appeal from police in an attempt to try and locate her husband.
Her 56-year-old husband Desmond, who has had dementia for several years and lives with a carer in Lambridge Street, has not been seen since Thursday evening when he went for a routine walk.
He did not return home and was reported missing just after midnight.
His wife Louise O’Sullivan said: “We had recently returned from a holiday in Ireland with Desmond’s family when he went missing.
“The feelings are indescribable, it’s a living torture.
“We are able to cope because I’m part of a large and loving family and we have some extraordinary friends. A number of them have been helping with the search.
“I would appeal to people to look out for Desmond and if they see him, or if they think they may have seen him since Thursday night, please contact the police.”
The couple have three children – a 19-year-old son and two daughters, aged 18 and 16.
Det Con Nick Wilkinson said: “We have carried out a number of searches of the area where Desmond was last seen and the police helicopter has been involved with these searches.
“We’re now appealing for more information and would ask the public to call us with any potential sightings of Desmond from Thursday evening onwards.
“As time goes by we are naturally becoming more concerned for his welfare.”
Desmond is described as white, 5ft 11ins, of big build, slightly balding, with a close cut beard. He was wearing brown shoes, black trousers and a mustard coloured Barbour-style jacket.
